As a part of a larger effort to provide enterprise customers with on-demand financial and communications applications, the TAP-a-PM consultant managed the development and deployment of hosted email applications in a secure facility in Canada. She provided strong leadership for the work of engineering and testing talent in California, Canada, Colorado, Georgia, Germany, and France.
Carefully managing a tight travel budget, the TAP-a-PM Program Manager arranged face-to-face meetings only at the critical points in the program including the initial Work Breakdown and Dependencies definition process. For months of no face-to-face contact, the team was tightly bound with shared servers, conference calls, and email.
The Beta customers in California and Canada utilized the service for mission-critical networking and financial services. A joint venture between the flagship customer and the manufacturer allowed free exchange of business information as well as risk sharing. Staff flowed freely among the organizations. Beyond multi-discipline Program Management, the TAP-a-PM consultant created and gained acceptance for the detailed Service Level Agreement under Canadian law among the customer, the vendor, and the joint venture. The program was aided by the consultant’s prior work in Canada and Europe.
