Course Title: PMP/CAPM Certification Prep. Prerequisite: Prior knowledge of or experience in Project Management Course Description: This course teaches the students key elements of Project Management per Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK ®) Fourth (2009) Edition. Students are instructed in all of the material that the Project Management Institute (PMI ®) considers important enough to be included in their certification exam for their PMP or CAPM credentials. In addition the students are exposed to several quizzes or practice exam questions to prepare them for the PMI certification exam.The following will be discussed:Project Management Framework including concepts and practice of Project Management, and Project Life cycle and organization; Project Management Processes, process groups, Flow diagrams, and documents; Integration of all Project Management Processes; Project Scope Management; Project Time Management, schedules and network diagrams; Project Cost Management; Project Quality Management; Project HR Management; Project Communications Management; Project Risk Management; Project Contract and Procurement Management; and Code of Professional Conduct. This covers all five domains that PMI tests the students for the PMP or CAPM certification exam namely, Initiating, Planning, Executing, Monitoring and Controlling, Closing, in addition to Professional and Social Responsibility.
Case studies, small projects and quizzes will also assist the students’ learning in this course.

Course Objectives: This course teaches the students key elements of Project Management per Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK ®) Fourth (2009) Edition. It focuses on fulfilling PMI ® requirements for the 35 contact Hours of PM instructions. Students taking this class will learn: 1. All five domains of Project Management, namely: Initiating, Planning, Executing, Monitoring and Controlling, Closing in addition to Professional and Social Responsibility; 2. All nine Key Knowledge Areas and associated processes of PM; 3. Knowledge and practice exercises of typical PMI ® CAPM and PMP certification exam.
Instruction Method: Online interactive Lecture and Instruction, Reference web sites, online discussions and hands-on practice exercises by lab teams.
